The appearance on this place might make you think twice but once you've had the food you will quickly rethink your opinion. My girlfriend and I came in off of the Groupon and because it was close by, decided to just try it despite the look of the plaza it's in and it was very well worth it. There are some very quirky odd rolls on the menu such as the Italian Roll, which taste like the best slice of pizza you've ever had. We also ordered the Samurai Roll, which came with no rice, just a variety of fish and a lot of them. This place uses quality ingredients and does it well, we had to order some extra to take home. Our server was Jesse, really nice kid doing a good job. You can tell he genuinely cares about the food and your personal best interest, for the first time ever at a sushi restaurant someone took the time to explain not to keep the rolls in the fridge for too long. Not many people know this, but rice collects bacteria extremely fast so you're never suppose to leave sushi rolls sitting in the fridge for more than a couple hours after making them. For as young as he was, he was very educated and made sure to let us know of this fact. We'll be back to see the guy and get some more of this awesome sushi.

This was a great lil find. As everyone says don't be alarmed when pulling up. If you're looking for frills and fancy - it's not your place. If you're looking for fresh delicious sushi at a small locally owned business. This is your place. Very casual - owners will greet you and will be your sushi chefs We ordered the cucumber roll- spicy color roll- hibachi roll - alaska and spicy tuna roll and all of it was great. The presentation was beautiful and so yummy! We will for sure go back Quick tip - try the happy hour menu it's awesome and a great value

Don't let the location or interior design stop you from coming here. The staff is super friendly and the owners are very sweet. My husband and I started off with a duck appetizer that was phenomenal. I ordered the spicy tuna and an eel roll. They were both delicious. We happened to go during happy hour and the prices were awesome. The regular menu prices are not bad at all either. This place is a definite must try for any sushi lovers.

Ok wow I just don't understand mustard on sushi???!!! *insert Jackie Chan WTF meme* oh, for the love of all that is holy in the sushi world do you realize how over powering mustard is??? Have you even tried your food? And under cooked shrimp, not cool guys, not cool. But I digress. Let's start from the beginning. Was feeling that lazy I don't wanna cook feeling you get when you've moved all day and just want some good food and pop on yelp to see if there was a good sushi place near by. This place had great reviews so I though what the hey let's go try it. (=_=) The shop is next to an audio place and across the street from the 2nd to last Winn Dixie known to man. I only saw one nice homeless guy who sat by the wall staring at me. There is plenty of parking in the front of the shop or you can park on the side where it is pitch black and you're likely to die. The shop itself is small but comfortable. They even have a montage to Jiro, a well known sushi chef. The booths are large enough to seat 4 but no worries, they also have chairs. The staff seemed nice at first the older lady greeted us in Spanish and we got a seat really quick. She had difficulty understanding us since she doesn't speak much English. Now on to the food. Wtf, I get it your trying to pull off the fusion sushi thing kinda like when we all had that rebellious stage and wore all black or dyed our hair crazy colors. Listen kids it works for some but not for all. Just like your food. You could have gone with a mango sweet sauce but you chose mustard. (-_-#) I mean of all the sauce you could make you choose that one. Ugh... OK the edamame was ok little over salted but ok. The tea came with a straw and a tea bag so... The miso had zero flavor. The other sushi i ordered was missing cream cheese. All the nori was super chewy and the unagi was over cooked. The picture I posted of the sushi lets it speak for its self. After about 3 bites and seeing the shrimp was raw I stopped eating. The cook ( I will not call him a chef) came out asking why I won't eat it and I explained my thoughts on using mustard in sushi. Where he tells me that everyone loves it... not everyone. Yeah not going back, paid everything and left. (^_^)/"

Seriously, don't let the outside of this place fool you or scare you away. The food was great and the service was awesome too!

This is a very quaint place right off University. Looks kind of scary from the outside I'll admit but the food is so worth it!! I went there because the reviews were so good and I was not disappointed. The owner was our server and we got to hear the story of how he and his business partner ventured from Venezuela to come here and make sushi. They had a very successful sushi restaurant in Venezuela for 5 years prior to coming here due to the poor situation in their country. The service was great, the food was even better and the story of how their restaurant came to be was the icing on the cake. You must try the sushi pizza!!

It seems to be a never-ending line of sushi restaurants going through this little run-down strip mall off of University. This most recent incarnation claims a more Western approach, and that's no joke. At best, it is what it claims to be, but at worst it's just downright weird. So weird, in fact, that we had a hard time deciding what to order. Now to be fair, when it comes to sushi, we are never really interested in things that are fried, tempura battered, stuffed with cream cheese, etc. You get the idea. So for us, the majority of Besuto's offerings are already out the window. If you like this sort of sushi, then chances are you'll find more that interests you, but I can only speak to my own tastes. It's one thing to have a menu that leans heavily toward over-Americanized rolls (they're certainly not the only place in town guilty of that!), but Besuto seems to take it a couple of steps farther. For example, one roll contains teriyaki chicken and fried plantain as the main ingredients, while another actually contains a fried mozzarella stick and Italian dressing. Inexplicably, there's also a section on the menu for hot dogs. Certainly something I've never seen at a sushi restaurant. There were a couple of "experience" issues as well, including ambient music that kept cutting in and out, a chemical/sewage odor when we walked in, and a small well-preserved insect that came out of the soy sauce bottle. When our check came, I put my credit card down and waited for a while, while the staff stood around playing on their phones or surfing on a laptop in view of the dining area. After waiting long enough, I went up to the podium at the back of the restaurant to pay. Maybe we were supposed to pay up there, I don't know. Anyway, we managed to find a couple of things that didn't sound terrible to us (remember, we don't really care for fried ingredients in our sushi so our options were limited). I don't remember what they were called, but they were well prepared and presented nicely. In fact, while nothing really stood out as excellent, we had no complaints about the food itself. If only there was more to choose from. Besuto's claim of western influence is something of an understatement. A menu like this will surely appeal to someone -- perhaps someone that doesn't care for more traditional sushi. As for us, we couldn't find a full meal worth of sushi on the menu that satisfied our tastes, so we just considered our small order an appetizer and then drove to Kiko. ----- Update ----- Another reviewer has suggested that my review should not be taken seriously. While I personally find the comment rather rude, whether or not you listen to that advice is up to you. However, just to set the record straight, her assertion that the hot dog section is a part of the children's menu is incorrect. The menu is available here: facebook.com/73953334608…

Everything about this place was just alright. A friend and I ordered one roll each and shared the chicken fried rice lunch special. We ordered the Hulk Roll which came with salmon and mango and the Mexican Roll which consisted of tempura shrimp and jalapeños. Both were mediocre and overpriced for the quality it was. My least favorite part was the rice of the sushi though, it was overly sticky and tasted wet almost. The chicken fried rice was overly drowned in soy sauce and the chicken itself was on the dry side. The staff was friendly and helpful, but overall probably will not be returning :(

Food is delicious and fresh and cheap absolutely loved it!!!! Great service Lunch special and roll special also great deals

I've had lunch there twice this week. Really can't beat that happy hour and the insanely good cheese kani. Give it a try!
(5)Maritza D.
I just ate here and the sushi was really good! I recommend the tokio roll, it has mango in it and it's absolutely wonderful! Also, they told me they started making their own eel sauce instead of buying it and it is sooo good! So remember to ask for some!

We ordered several items, there was a lot of unique items. The assorted fish pizza is amazing! Fish gets a little warm, but tempura rice makes a great base. Really liked the Salmon Golden roll, plantains are a good complement. Cheese Kani was decent as were Mango unagi and salmon tempura. I did not like the carrot roll, but I don't like seafood salad in general and didn't catch that it was included. We will order again!

You definitely need to be ready for a non-traditional adventurous sushi night. The decor is plain and its location isn't stellar but don't let that stop you from going in. We ordered a "sushi pizza" as an appetizer. This is essentially rice deep fried as a crush and various fish/salad/sauce on top. It was delightful and gone too fast. We also order the konobei roll and Italian roll both of which were specialty rolls and amazing. We both particularly loved the Italian. Will definitely return. Only 4 stars because of the lack of atmosphere/decor and the tropical roll we ordered which was not bad but not at all special.

There weekday specials are AMAZING! The owners are a super sweet couple. Definitely my favorite hole in a wall restaurant in all of Orlando.

Great food. The best people. They make you feel at home. You have to go! Congrats guys!

The Best Sushi I have had since Yoshi in Jax closed. Golden Salmon Roll and Italian Rolls are a must to try.

The food was great. The staff was very friendly and the chef was very helpful. He helped us match what we wanted to some items on the menu and the food was brought out in a timely manner.
(5)M D.
The food took a long time to arrive (Which was acknowledged by our server, who brought out an appetizer on the house, an unusual fried faux-crab/ cream cheese stick) When the food came, the fish inside the roll was slimy and of an odd consistency, of which I ate several pieces hoping the last piece was an off-piece, but ultimately decided this was a $19 lunchtime loss.

Great service and great food. Staff were able to change some items as I am alergic to shrimp, love that they deliver!

This place was delicious. I used a groupon and was pleasantly surprised. Sushi is fresh and the owner is super nice. Reasonable prices too.

So glad to have a great sushi place nearby. They have great specials and the food is very well prepared. Everything we've ordered has been phenomenal!

Just good sushi and inexpensive. If you don't see what you want, ask! They're happy to accommodate. My wife asked for a sunomono salad and it came out perfectly with lots of cucumbers, fresh fish and a sweet dressing. Prices are excellent. Their happy hour (3-6pm I think) rolls are $2.85!!!! I got two last night and they were just enough. Between the two of us, including saki and tea, our bill came to less than $20!!!! This is the 4th or 5th time we've been and we'll be coming back again!
(5)Teagan R.
Great food and prices! Really excited when this place opened- I usually go with predictable rolls but with their bonuses and regular deals, I've been able to try so many things! Give this place a chance! You can't beat the prices, quality, and they deliver!

this is an amazing place!!!! i went to have dinner with my husband last night and we have such an amazing time. first the service since we enter the place was perfect. the waitress was very helpful and took the time to explain the menu. he recommended me to try the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer that have crab inside and let me tell you i was very surprise... the flavor was perfect!!! i love it so much then we order the rolls... priceless in my opinion the place was great in everything the menu is very good and very simple to understand and yes the menu have hot dogs but for the children`s menu i really recommend this place to everyone and give it a try is very hard to please everyone but don`t take the previous review serious
(5)Susan L.
Sometimes Groupons and such work. It was the picture of the duck hearts that drew us in and for $3.95 it was a great little appetizer with shitaki mushrooms. I was surprised to discover that it is owned by Colombians and there were some evident fusion influences, such as the corn in the tasty mini ramen bowl. The salmon skin in the roll was crisp and not fishy. There are a lot of cooked food options as well. Service was friendly and welcoming. Please give these folks a try - it is a little unique and we would love to see them succeed.

After reading the latest yelp review we made a u-turn to come back to this place. I admit, I also judged this restaurant by it's exterior, opting for other sushi restaurants in the past. Not anymore. We had the Italian roll, Rock 'n Roll and the Ebi Roll. Other reviews praised the Italian Roll and rightly so. This roll will definitely play a trick on your senses. Well done! Rock and Roll and Ebi were also amazing. The boat was empty when we left. Great portions. Chef took the time to explain the rolls to us. Just saki and limited beer for drink options. Wasn't a deal breaker for us. Will be back! If this place was in downtown Orlando, you'd have make a reservation in advance..

My husband and I came here based on a review from a co-worker. Please don't be shocked when you arrive at the restuarant; it's small and the decor is nothing fancy, but give it a chance, the dinner is very much worth it. My husband and I ordered a soda (they don't have bottled water) and seaweed salad to start. The seaweed salad is fantastic and such a nice serving side-perfect for two people. We ordered four rolls and they brought it out on a boat! I was impressed. We'll definitely be back. If the owners are reading this, I have just a few suggestions. Please carry bottled water, please get low-sodium soy sauce, and some paint on the walls would be nice. Dark-colored walls make a sushi bar so much more cozy.
(5)Caressa H.
The plaza the sushi bar is located in is not the most appealing, but don't let that fool you! This place is by far the best sushi I have had in Orlando thus far & the family that owns the place are so welcoming! Will definitely be going back!
(5)Emily B.
Don't be alarmed by the location or when you walk in. I found this place thru a groupon and even though when I first went in I was skeptical because of appearance I still stood and ate. I honestly had a good time with my husband and kids. They give you lots of food for the money and it taste really good. Since they are new and just starting they only have one waiter. And ladies they don't have wine. All they have is beer and sake.

My family and I went here Friday , at first sight we where going to leave but choose to give them a chance and where pleasantly surprised. We had Chrunch Roll, lave Roll ( exotically delicious) and I had the Personal( very healthy choices fresh cuts). ..very freash preservation was nice prices awesome good value.

This was my first visit to this reataurant. It's a very small hole in the wall place. However, their sushi menu is exquisite. They have a of specialty sushi that I have never seen. I had the Salmon Golden Roll which is tempura salmon, avocado topped with fried plantain. I have never seen fried plantain on sushi. I also had the Tropical Roll which is panko shrimp, mango and cucumber topped with coconut. The restaurant is very small and very clean. This place does not have a nice ambiance for dining in. It's very plain and not inviting. I would return for the sushi, but I would take the order to go.
(4)Chris C.
The best sushi I've had in quite a long time! Friendly wait staff, large portions at affordable prices and an inviting atmosphere! The exterior doesn't look like much, but inside it's golden! 10 out of 10, would recommend to a friend!!
(5)Alex B.
Pretty good sushi for the area. The fish is fresh which you can tell from the sashimi. The portions seem very large which I guess justifies the price, but I would gladly pay less for a smaller amount. One thing I didn't like was the heavy focus on Americanized dishes, eg fried, tempura, mayo -- didn't seem like a lot of raw options in the specialty rolls. All together it was good and we will probably be back, but it didn't blow my mind.

I have moved my rating to five stars baby I slept in past my order pickup, an they made me the order fresh again no charge, try the tempura banana leon e space dandy approves this messege baby.

I am definitely coming back to this place! The food was so good I wanted to cry of happiness. It was hard to chew because I couldn't stop smiling. I had the chicken teriyaki roll, salmon golden, salmon special, and tempura brownie sundae. I was also given an appetizer for free because apparently they were taking longer than usual. The service was great and the place was clean.
